Introduction:

The primary goal of the Coastal Ocean Environment Summer School In Nigeria and Ghana (COESSING) is to provide a platform where scientists from West Africa and the Global North can assemble. Scientific collaboration is impossible unless people first meet, preferably in person, and bringing scientists from the Global North to Africa provides an opportunity for such meetings to take place.
